Peter Pan Production - July 2014
Years 5 and 6 used their wonderful talents of singing and acting to perform a fantastic production of Peter Pan! 
Well done to all the children and staff involved.

   

Summer Fete - July 2014
The PTA organised their third Summer Fete with a variety of stalls and activities for all to enjoy. The sun was shining and the children were smiling! A huge success - thank you to everyone who attended and helped out.

Royal Festival Hall Music Festival -  June 2014

 St Joseph's Orchestra and Choir joined together with other schools in Bexley and Bird College to perform at the Royal Festival Hall Festival of Music.  A wonderful experience for all the children involved!

   
 

Gardening Club's Whole School Picnic - June 2014

June we celebrated 'Empty Classroom Day' with a Whole School Picnic - a fantastic celebration of the hard work put in by Gardening Club this year! Everyone had their lunch outside which was supplemented by delicious samples of the produce. The menu consisted of: Broad Bean Salad with Lemon and Mint, Italian Potato Salad with Chives, Leafy Salad with Radish and Spring Onions followed by Sweet Strawberries.
Some of the children's comments:
"It made me feel happy because I got to experience different kinds of food."
"My favourite bit was that we were all sat together."
"It was absolutely brilliant!"

   
     

  PTA School Disco - June 2014  
 

The children danced the night away to all the latest tunes from our very own DJ - 'Mark Bradley'. The children had a rocking time! Thank you to all the PTA members and volunteers involved.

  SWAC Waste Audit - Jun 2014  
 

The SWAC team from Bexley Council carried out workshops with every class to encourage the '3Rs'. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. A week later Year 5 undertook a Waste Audit to find out how we can improve our waste recycling!

 
   
     

Walk to School Week Big Breakfast!  19th - 23rd May 2014
 


WOW! What a Big Breakfast! We are delighted to say that around 180 children and parents walked to school to earn their free breakfast on Wednesday 22nd – what a great effort and thank you to all children and parents who participated! We hope you will continue to see the many benefits of walking to school. Thanks to all who helped on the morning to make it such a success. Grateful thanks also to Sainsbury’s, Crayford for juice and yoghurts, the
Co-op Chastilian Road, Dartford for Fairtrade bananas and Morgans Greengrocers, Crayford for the delicious watermelons!

  Bexley Catholic Primary Schools' Choral Festival - March 2014  
  St Joseph's Choir participated in the Bexley Catholic Primary Schools' Choral Festival held at Our Lady of the Angels Church. We were joined by St Catherine's and St Columba's instrumentalists providing musical interludes. All the children sang beautifully, especially St Joseph's choir with their breathtaking performance. Our children are a truly, wonderful asset to our school!  
     

     
     
  RE Celebration Day - March 2014  
  St Joseph's hosted a RE Celebration Morning for the catholic primary schools within the borough. There were six different activities for the children to take part in (Art, Cookery, CRIBS, Dance, Gardening & Music) with each activity themed around 'Growing in Faith'. All the children involved had a wonderful morning which ended with the schools joining together in a celebration hymn.  
     

     
   
  Make A Difference Group - Easter Chicks  
  The Make A Difference Group are learning about how to care and be responsible for another living creature and are currently looking after 11 baby chicks!  
     

     
   
  Spring Bulbs - March 2014  
  Children grew and nurtured their own spring bulbs which were brought into school for judging by the London Children's Flower Society. A fantastic display and fragant aroma filled the entrance hall. Well done to all the children.  
     

     
   
  World Book Day 2014  
  The children and staff dressed up as one of their favourite Roald Dahl book characters. Everyone put in much effort with their costumes and the day was completed with an exciting parade.
A winner from each class was awarded a book token - well done to all the children!
 
     

     
   
  Young Voices  
  For the second year, St. Joseph's choir took part in the Young Voices Concert. The event was held at the O2 Arena with over 7,000 school children participating.
An amazing experience for all involved!
 
     

   
  Minibeast Week  
  The whole school took part in Minibeast Week which involved an assembly, a guest speaker visiting the school with live minibeasts for the children to see and hold, Maths and English lessons based around minibeasts, Art and Craft activities, minibeast dressing-up day and even a presentation for the parents of all the childrens' work!
 
 
     

   

Christmas Festivities at St. Joseph's 2013

 

The children enjoyed Christmas Dinner followed by a visit from Father Christmas and a Christmas Disco!  A wonderful day full of fun and laughter!

Churches Together Concert - December 2013

 

St. Joseph's choir took part in the Churches Together Christmas Concert.  Beautiful singing was heard throughout the evening from all the children who took part.

 
     

   
Snow Queen Production - December 2013
 

Cat's Grin Theatre Company entertained the children with an interactive production of the Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen.  All the children had great fun

PTA School Disco - November 2013

The children put on their dancing shoes and rocked the night away to the latest tunes from our very own DJ - 'Mark Bradley'. A great evening with over £500 raised! Thank you to all the PTA members for organising.

     

   
Love in a Box - November 2013
This is a fundraising event for the Mustard Seed Relief Mission. Children pack small items into shoeboxes which are then sent to under privileged children throughout Eastern Europe. Each one is individually received by a child for Christmas.
 
     

Macmillan Coffee Morning - September 2013

An amazing £78.50 was raised at the Macmillan 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' by parents and staff. Tea and cakes were enjoyed by all!

Harvest Festival ~ October 2013

Thank you for the generous donation of Harvest food.  The Salvation Army will use the donations to support feeding the homeless in London.

The children in Year 5 and 6 worked extremely hard to put on an amazing production of the well known story 'Jungle Book'. Both the acting and singing were outstanding - well done to all the children who took part!

Easter Bonnet Competition: March 2013

The children and staff created their own Easter Bonnets and showed off their creations in the school hall where the judges were faced with some difficult decisions! Three winners from each class were awarded with an Easter Egg - well done to all the children.

St. Joseph's Choir: Bexley Catholic Primary Schools Choral Festival: 20th March 2013

St. Joseph's entered into the Choral Festival at Our Lady of the Angels Church along with eight other Bexley schools and took away the first prize. Well done to our choir!

PTA Quiz Night: March 2013

Thank you to everyone who participated in what turned out to be a very enjoyable evening. Congratulations to the winning team - our very own Mrs Brady, Mrs Heron and Mrs Redpath! The PTA raised £380.
 


Young Voices Concert - January 2013

For the first time, St. Joseph's choir took part in the Young Voices Fundraising Concert. The event was held at the O2 Arena with 7,700 school children participating.

A fantastic experience for all involved!


Love in a Box - November 2012

This is a fundraising event for Mustard Seed Relief Mission. Children packed small items into shoeboxes which were then sent to under privileged children throughout Eastern Europe. Each one was individually received by a child for Christmas.


PTA School Disco - November 2012

The first school disco arranged by the PTA was a great success with the majority of children attending.

The evening raised £530.

Children brought food into school which we donated to the Salvation Army for the elderly.
