Summer Fete - July 2015

The PTA organised their fourth Summer Fete with a variety of stalls and activities for all to enjoy. The sun was shining and the children were smiling! A huge success - thank you to everyone who attended and helped out.

The children put their singing and acting talents to the test with this wonderful production of Shrek.  Fantastic performance by all - well done!

Cinema Night - 19th June 2015

The School Council organised a Cinema Night after school for the children to watch the Disney film 'Big Hero 6'. The children had a great time and even managed to spend the interval outside in the sunshine!

   

PTA School Disco - June 2015

The children once again put on their dancing shoes and enjoyed having a boogie to all the latest tunes from our very own DJ 'Mark Bradley'. Thank you to all the PTA members and volunteers involved - a fantastic £458 was raised for the school

Poetry Competition - June 2015

The children had fun choosing and learning a poem which was performed to their class.  Each class chose 3 winners who individually performed their poem to the whole school. One winner was awarded from each class.  Well done to all the children in our first Poetry Competition at St Joseph's

Walk to School Week Big Breakfast! - 18th - 22nd May 2015

We were delighted to see so many families leaving their cars at home on Wednesday and coming together again for the Big Breakfast.  The big message is to cut down on pollution and find more sustainable ways of travelling to school.  Thanks go to the children in Year 5 for providing promotional posters and flyers for the event, and to all those staff, parents and volunteers, without whom the Big Breakfast would not be possible.  Our grateful thanks also go to Morrisons, the Co-op and Morganís Greengrocers for donations of fruit, yoghurts and fruit juice.  

Please take forward our important message and continue to make the school run a car free experience whenever you can!

St Joseph's Day - 19th March 2015

The children celebrated the feast of our patron saint, St Joseph, by joining together for a whole school mass followed by each class enjoying a delicious St Joseph's cake.  The children also had fun guessing each member of staff from their baby photos!

     

Make A Difference Group - Easter Chicks 2015

The Make A Difference Group are learning about how to care and be responsible for another  living creature and are currently looking after 10 baby chicks.

     
     
The 'B' Word - Anti-Bullying Production

Firehorse Productions performed a play to the whole school to reinforce the importance of saying 'No to Bullying'. A fun performance with a strong message!
     

Spring Bulbs - March 2015

Children grew and nurtured their own spring bulbs which were brought into school for judging by the London Children's Flower Society.  A fantastic display and fragrant aroma filled the entrance hall.  Well done to all the children.

Midday Supervisors' Lunchtime Activities - December 2014

The Midday Supervisor role is to ensure safe, fun, interesting play and also to manage the dining hall. This half term, we ran seasonal events at lunchtime:
A wish tree for Christmas wishes and a Christmas tree made from hands, in addition to singing, dancing, bricks, basketball, football, books, colouring, weaving and toy cars.

The children danced the night away to all the latest tunes from our very own DJ - 'Mark Bradley'. The children had a rocking time! Thank you to all the PTA members and volunteers involved - a wonderful £489 was raised for the school.  

     
Civic Celebration of Pupil Achievement -
Thursday 13th November 2014


Congratulations to Morgan Baxter for outstanding achievement in RE and to Myles Skinner for outstanding achievement in Maths. The children joined with other Bexley schools and were awarded certificates by the Mayor of Bexley. We are very proud of both Morgan and Myles - well done.

An amazing £105 was raised at the Macmillan 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' by parents and staff. Tea and cakes were enjoyed by all!
 

     
Harvest Food ~ September 2014
